Image courtesy of pepo on stock.xchng I’ve been sitting in a study on the book of James for a while now at my church. The beginning of James talks about the followers of Christ going through trials and temptations. James begins: “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete,… Read More »Hard Times – How Is This Good For Me?

This year I am posting a much smaller New Year’s Resolution list. Last year proved to be a failure for all of my goals except for one. That’s not to say that having them was worthless; I actually worked on quite a few which helped me make progress last year. However, this year I am narrowing the list down so that I can really focus. So here are my New Year’s Resolutions for 2010. 1. Work on my relationship with… Read More »2010 New Year’s Resolutions
Happy Thanksgiving! For today I wanted to just take a second and list out five things that I am extremely thankful for this year. 1) Jesus Christ and Salvation First and foremost I am thankful that the creator of the universe calls me His son. John 1:12 says, “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” So how can you become a child of God… Read More »Happy Thanksgiving 2009 – 5 Things I’m Thankful For
Well, it is Wednesday before the big race and I’m getting mentally and physically prepared. I ran a quick 2 miles yesterday and will do the same today just to stay loose, but no running after today. I want to be fully recovered and rested before the half marathon. The bad thing is my son just got sick this week with some sort of stomach virus, which the doctor’s office is saying lasts around 5 days… swell. My wife has… Read More »Gearing Up For The Race
I’m not sure any of you remember my hair braiding incident earlier this year, but it really got me to thinking about hair styles and more importantly… experimenting with mine. I have a long standing agreement with a good friend of mine that before I cut my hair short the next time I will wear a mullet for at least a week and be sure to go into the office of wherever it is I work for at least one… Read More »Daddy Wants A New Hair-Do
This past Sunday, I was at the coffee maker in our church foyer grabbing a cup of Joe. My 2 1/2 year old daughter was with me at the time. After doctoring my coffee I was ready to head back into the church to survey where my seat was, what my other family members were doing and mingle a bit before the service started. I reached down to take my daughter’s hand to lead her with me. Instead of taking… Read More »Carry Me, Daddy
Traveling Without the Kids Aubrey and I went up to Wisconsin this past weekend to visit with my sister and see their new baby get baptized. We left our three children with Aubrey’s parents and my parents helped some during the days. We had a really great time and it was the first time in many years that Aubrey and I were able to fly together. When we got back home on Monday evening, Aubrey’s dad picked us up from… Read More »Spending Time With The Father
Over the past month I’ve gotten some short video clips of Avery reading. So I finally threw them on the ole iMac and put them together in a video so show the world! Here it is. * Click through to the site if you cannot see the video. коли под наем
Here are just a few pictures that I took of Avery playing at the front door. It’s so cute when kids smash their little noses against the glass and look in at you. Here’s just another cute shot of my baby girl. She’s growing up so fast! You can head over to our Family Picture Gallery to see the rest of the photos in the Playing At The Door album.
This was actually the first year that we have carved a face in a pumpkin. The really neat thing about it was that we were also all together: me, Aubrey and all three kids. We had a great time. Aubrey and the kids picked out the pumpkin while I was still working. After dinner Aubrey read The Pumpkin Patch Parable, a neat story that takes creating a jack-o-lantern from a pumpkin and turns it into a story about God’s love,… Read More »Pumpkin Carving With The Franzone Family
